Writing: Short Story, Drama/Comedy

It is three days before the Festival, and an important member of your performance team has fallen sick with dengue. Now what?!

  • There is no word limit - no minimum, no maximum. However, do remember that this is a story. A couple of sentences don't count.
  • You have until Sunday to submit, make any edits or add new content.

At the end of the week we will choose the winners. The best response will get a quadcopter, and two runners-up will get a flash drive. All participants will get a participation boost for participating. Now say that out loud. Yeah, man.

The Winners:

First: jacaranda
Second: Nobody lol

I will give up performance. Because time is too short to prepare other performance or to look for someone.

Good ideas, but stories are needed -  not just comments!

The team decided to break up. However, the sick person said the team to perform without her or him. They could finish the performance perfectly. Cool Cool

My teammates performed our show in hospital room and live-broadcasted it in festival. Audiences touched and urged school to support our team. We all lived happily ever after.  Grin Grin

You're all expert at memorizing, so that shouldn't be a problem.  Wink

This almost qualifies!   Cheesy

It's been a few hours since I've been thinking of what will happen a few days. One member of my team has fallen sick. We've been preparing this performance for a few months now, and the sweat is about to be useless.. I've been thinking about how sorry she'll be if she hears we weren't able to perform because she was sick.

So, I decide to separate her part into pieces. Even if we're a team of three, we can still perform and win the competition. So her part is divided into 5 parts each.

We practice for two days straight.

The day has finally arrived and it's now a few hours away. My team is now ready and we go on stage. We introduce ourself to the audience and begin our performance, mentioning the lack of one of our members. It's really a pity she can't see the audience, all excited and jumping to our music.

But the judges of the festival aren't really that forgiving. We did break the rule of "at least 4 members each team". So they decide to give us a participation award. We decide to understand it and as we take the award to our sick member, she still greets us with a huge smile and thanks us for coming to the hospital. We then prepare for the next performance, hoping that nothing will go wrong this time.

Good progression, realistic, and, although still short, it does qualify as a story.  Smiley
